Carey received the award for her very unglamorous performance in “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ By Sapphire.”
The entire cast has also been nominated for a Screen Actors’ Guild award for Best Ensemble.

She explains the movie’s appeal: “Greek gods are so human in so many ways — they love and they hate and they get jealous — and that’s what makes the stories about them so exciting.”
