She was nominated for a British Academy of Film and Television Arts award for an episode in which her character, Dot Cotton, records a 30-minute message for her ill husband. The episode is unusual in that it consisted entirely of her monologue. This is the first BAFTA nomination for Brown, who is 82 years old.
